Privacy Policy

Last updated 12 July 2026

conduit is an Apple TV remote app for Android, developed by Florian Schuster. This policy explains how conduit handles your information. The short version: conduit does not collect your personal data, and it talks only to your own Apple TV.

What conduit stores

When you pair with an Apple TV, conduit stores that pairing - the device's name, address, and the credentials needed to reconnect - together with your app settings, locally on your device. This information is never uploaded to any server and is never shared with the developer or any third party.

What conduit does not do

Your local network

To do its job, conduit discovers Apple TVs on your local Wi-Fi network and opens a direct, encrypted connection to the one you pair with, in order to send remote commands and the text you type. This communication happens only between your phone and your Apple TV on your own network; it does not pass through the developer or any external server.

Purchases

The optional Lifetime Pass is sold and processed by Google Play Billing. conduit never sees or stores your payment details; it only receives whether the pass has been purchased, so it can unlock unlimited use. Before starting a purchase, conduit uses the Google Play Integrity API to check that the app and device are genuine - a standard anti-fraud check that returns no personal information to conduit.

Internet access

Beyond your local network and the purchase flow above, conduit makes one further web request: to load a small decorative animation hosted at florianschuster.at, shown on the settings screen. This is an ordinary web request that carries no information about you beyond what any web request inherently includes (such as your device's IP address, which may appear in standard, short-lived server logs but is not used to track or identify you). conduit works fully without it.

Data deletion

Because everything conduit stores lives only on your device, you remain in full control of it. Disconnecting an Apple TV removes its pairing, and uninstalling the app removes all of its data.

Children

conduit does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children, as it collects no personal data at all.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date above.
